Disappearing humans, a robot uprising, and a shady music promoter: the Cyberpink girls are in for the ride of their lives. Get ready for aliens, action, and multiverse mayhem! 🚀
MEET THE GIRLS®! 🎸
Arrogant and stubborn, tough and smart, L has a soft spot for others, and is fiercely protective of her one-year younger sister, Stacyÿ.
As great-grandchildren of famous fashion designer Rumi Shivali, she and Stacyÿ grew up surrounded by unimaginable wealth, their childhood marred by the complete absence of their parents.
As a result, they were raised by their robotic housekeepers. This is likely one of the reasons L finds robots less irritating than people.
Stacyÿ — who aspires to be a fashion designer like her famous great-grandmother one day — learned early-on to act as a foil for her sister’s negativity.
She’s good at defusing situations with her silly humor, which both lightens the mood and serves to protect her.
Brilliantly intelligent like her sister, she has a gift with words (which often gets them out of — and into — some sticky situations), and tends to keep her true feelings under wraps.
Her boyfriend is ETH4N, a modern "bioplastic" robot and the son of their robotic groundskeeper, who she’s been friends with since childhood.
Infiniti is the daughter of two famous scientists: physicist Dr. Adamma Adaku and Dr. Duncan Lachlan, a nanosurgeon (a highly specialized doctor who programs nanobots to cure disease).
After her beloved older brother Graeme — on track to become a famous scientist himself — died of a rare disease her father was unable to cure, her father was confined to a mental institution.
Still haunted by the loss of her brother, and helpless to fix the despair of her father, she’s torn between living up to her brother Graeme in the eyes of her parents and doing what she wants to do.
The daughter of two mothers (both deceased), Maya was on track to become high school valedictorian.
When she found out her surviving mother had a heart condition and was going to refuse treatment on spiritual grounds, Maya began selling term papers to buy her gifts. (Maya was hoping to “inspire” her mother to keep living.)
In a tragic twist of fate, Maya's mother died the same day her cheating was uncovered.
Riddled with guilt, Maya tends to shame others (especially L) for breaking rules and taking chances.
A talented jazz drummer, Eva was raised by a robot, her adoptive mother SYSE-11.
In spite of loving her mother, Eva’s always been secretly ashamed of being that "weird girl with the robot mom."
She still needs to learn to be proud of her mother, to speak up when she needs to, and show her mother love.
Doug was created by Infiniti’s father Dr. Lachlan to provide palliative care during Graeme’s long years of illness.
Now a member of the Cyberpink family, he packs a surprising amount of diagnostic and processing power into such a small carapace.
Genetically enhanced Aspen Colby is heir to the Colby dynasty and a direct descendent of Navarra Colby, who created the largest weapons manufacturing concern of the prior century.
Looking to revive her family’s past “glory,” she’s creator of the GOTCHA Program, her Global Operation to Track, Crush, Harass, and Annoy, and her signature PESTS (Pocket-sized Electronic Sabotage Termites).
Be careful not to get on her List! Once you're on it, the GOTCHA Program will continue to hound you for the rest of your life!
Aspen's destruction of Stacyÿ’s end-of-year project is what sets the events of Cyberpink into motion.

WHO ARE WE
Venezuelan artist SAMUEL BERMUDEZ says:
"My main visual inspirations come from the works of Japanese artists like Katsuhiro Ōtomo and Masamune Shirow, from which my appreciation for the cyberpunk aesthetic was born.
My hope with the audience is to connect. Whether through the stories, the gestures, or the interactions, I would love for people to find a bit of themselves in each of the panels."
Hi everyone! As someone who began singing in bands at the age of 17, eventually playing music in LA, the music industry (with all its ups and downs and colorful characters) is near and dear to me.
Ultimately I think Cyberpink® is very much inspired by the Saturday morning cartoons I used to watch as a kid.
I also love more radical shows like Rick & Morty, but for this project, I liked the idea of creating something appealing to both kids and adults, like Star Wars or Harry Potter. There are ups and downs in those universes, but overall they leave you feeling good: like for all its flaws, the world is a fundamentally redeemable place.
FAQs
WHAT IS KICKSTARTER, AND WHY ARE YOU LAUNCHING a Kickstarter campaign?
Kickstarter is a FREE crowdfunding platform that takes about 3 minutes to join.
When you support a project on Kickstarter, you're essentially pre-ordering a product. These pre-orders are called "rewards" because you're helping fund the creation of the product and getting an incredible deal in return!
(You also get to brag that you helped launch something cool!)
We need to raise funds to continue the graphic novel and promote it with advertising, PR, etc.
The end goal is to be picked up by a major comic book publisher, but often they want to see the project has traction and a fan base first.
HOW MUCH OF THE GRAPHIC NOVEL IS COMPLETE?
About 20%. We have Double Issue 1 (58 pages) and Issue 2 (18 pages). The script is about 360 pages, which will be around 400 pages when illustrated!
IS Cyberpink® ALL-AGES?
YES (but not in a lame way)! Like Star Wars or Harry Potter, Cyberpink is meant to be enjoyed by adults and kids. The plot is a little complex, involving some futuristic science, but it doesn't get too bogged down in it, so it's a fun read for anyone.
WHEN WILL THE KICKSTARTER GO LIVE?
Join our email list and we'll let you know right before it goes live!
WHEN WILL I GET MY BACKER REWARDS?
As soon as the campaign completes! Everything (except for the full 400-page graphic novel, of course) is already prepared and ready to email. (The full graphic novel will be emailed later, upon completion!)
WHY SHOULD I JOIN YOUR NEWSLETTER?
Signing up to our newsletter gives you immediate access to our private Facebook Group, where you can access early news and communications, backstage, work in progress, community polls, ask questions directly to us, and much more.
You will also receive a link to the FIRST 13 PAGES OF CYBERPINK and be the first to know when the campaign launches, so you'll be able to secure your Super Early Bird Discount!
Tell me about the music!
We're working on a soundtrack for Spotify, etc., in a variety of different styles (each for a different "band member"), with an eye to getting some of our favorite bands to one day contribute original songs and play "as" Cyberpink! Here's one rough track, below. 🙂
